the gorgeous new home of Jennifer Lopez

Here’s a little peek into Jennifer Lopez’s recently purchased gorgeous Bel Air home. This 8 acre property in the heart of old Bel Air was previously owned and renovated by actress Sela Ward (pictured below). I'm sharing how the home now looks with Sela’s décor, but I’m sure Jen will soon be revamping the whole place! Originally listed for $40 million, J.Lo got it for a mere $28 million! Not bad for 8 acres in a prime LA location!

Sela was raised in Mississippi, so when she originally bought this house, she was thrilled to find out it was last extensively redone by Natchez, Mississippi architect Samuel Marx, in 1954The home already had southern charm when Sela moved in, and she hired a fellow Mississipian, designer Ann Runyon Carter, to help her update and redesign the home. Many of the paintings in the home were painted by Sela.

This estate features the main house, with 5 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, along with two guest cottages, a stream, a pool, a vineyard, and an amphitheater. Inside the main residence, you will also enjoy a large home theater, massage room, three offices, a pub and ten fireplaces!

The connection to the outdoors just floods the indoor spaces with great views of the large established trees and lush plants. This home office opens up the the terrace and the pool. (Wait 'til you see the outdoor spaces!)

Antique oak beams, French accents and a huge skylight make for a spectacular kitchen!

A portrait of Sela from the film “54” that was done in a Warhol-like style adorns in the sitting room. She co-stared in the movie based on the iconic Studio 54.

One of the guest cottages features fun textiles and exotic carved wood details.

As you drive up the dramatic driveway, you catch your first glimpse of the beautiful stone house.

There are so many quaint, cozy and relaxing outdoor spaces. Which one is your favorite?

This covered bridge sits over the creek and leads to the front door. The large palms and sycamores create an inviting first impression.

How about this for an outdoor fireplace?

I can’t wait to see what Jennifer does with the place!

ciao! fabiana
